Inspired by the classic courtyard building, this was conceived as a residential project incorporating the spatial qualities and amenities associated with a contemporary, urban experience. The building's orientation maximizes views and exposures to the Loop, Lake and Michigan Avenue to place residents within an urban landscape, yet its central garden offers them accessible repose from the city.

The building includes two separate entries and cores for a more intimate entry sequence and for easier identification of individual residences. This design also reduces the number of corridors and shortens travel distances to building amenities, such as parking, storage, roof terraces and the garden.

An exposed structure, high ceilings, full height glazing and open planning create a loft-like environment without sacrificing functional requirements. Acoustical and environmental systems offer each of the one hundred residences independent controls to maintain their integrity.
