The Lincoln Park house designed by Brininstool + Lynch is a project fraught with dichotomies. The clients, a couple with two children, were committed to urban life, yet they also wanted certain amenities of suburban living. Accessibility to the outdoors figured high on the list. They also wanted 16 rooms flooded in natural light with large open spaces,” begins Brad Lynch. The urban site, however, was not favorable to any of these needs. Lodged between three city streets, the shallow L-shaped lot was 170 ft long but only 25 ft wide.
