Brininstool + Lynch Architects: 1440 S Michigan

1440 S Michigan

Chicago, Illinois

2000

Inspired by the classic courtyard building, this was conceived as a residential project incorporating the spatial qualities and amenities associated with a contemporary, urban experience. The building's orientation maximizes views and exposures to the Loop, Lake Michigan, and Michigan Avenue to place residents within an urban landscape, yet its central garden offers them accessible repose from the city.
