Chicago Biennial Kiosk

Brininstool + Lynch Architects: Chicago Biennial Kiosk

Chicago Biennial Kiosk

Chicago, Illinois

Competition, 2015

Formally simple and cleanly detailed, the kiosk does more with less. When closed a soft glow emanates from behind perforated metal doors, when open the entire structure becomes an unobtrusive frame centering views on the cityscape and lakefront. Easily moveable and replicable, the kiosk can be completely fabricated in a workshop from readily available materials. Clad in minimally reflective aluminum panels with an interior finished in marine-grade plywood, durability and buildability go hand and hand with its clear formal intentions.
