Tiny Lounge
Chicago, Illinois
2008
After being displaced by the expansion of the CTA train station it was once nestled under, the Tiny Lounge was faced with relocating to a new space while maintaining the sensibility and atmosphere of its original home. Where possible, original booth seating was reused, while new design elements and technology where added to create a comfortable inviting space. Clean yet irregular in texture, millwork comprised of stacked plywood leverages a simple machine process for a handcrafted effect. The result is a contemporary space that evokes that of a time honored classic.
